I think conversation is a skill


Having flair in what you say and how you say it can make any topic feel more appealing and attractive


Pickup “lines” are a cheap imitation of that.
People use them as a substitute to having personality that’s why they never work


That being said: being direct shouldn’t mean being flat and boring


There’s nothing wrong with playful compliments sprinkled into a direct and earnest exchange

I agree with this much more. Having a normal conversation you can gauge interest as well as create it a lot better. If the conversation seems forced then eh maybe she’s not interested or who knows maybe she’s having a off day. I say be direct… and then the balls in her court. I figure someone genuinely interested will show interest back.

Every guy I've ever gone out with has been someone I know or have been introduced to and who I have talked to. Some have gone on a long time as friends before dating, some have gone quickly because we had a lot of chemistry right away. If we have sex or do something sexual on the first date it's because we decided at that time to do it, or we had been thinking about it before then and then did it.
