It's fairly common for people in hospitals to say stuff like "I don't want them to see me like this". Maybe he just doesn't want to be seen until he's back to 100% because he feels like he looks weak right now or something like that.

I know nothing yet. That what makes me worry. Haven’t heard from him since the day of surgery, but he active on social media, hence I can assume he is back home and recovering.

He has the capacity to react, comment on memes. But I literally have no information about his health. Texted him asking about how is he keeping, I got no reply

There’s a difference in ‘making it all about me’ and ‘understanding the pattern’ of a person who has had a surgery.
As someone who genuinely cares, even a single word knowing about their health and recovery is enough. The so called ‘bugging’ doesn’t even stand in the list.
