I had dates before, but until now, the guys I only got were:

- those who lost interest after the first or second date
- those who in the first date or in the second, they want a thrust, a one night stand, or another kind of physical intimacy which makes me feel uncomfortable because I don't allow it unless feelings reciprocate and there is emotional trust built by going out many times.
- those with whom I feel there could be a connection and/or mutual interests, but in the end, they don't want.

It's nothing wrong with being 40 and never having had one. I know a few women who are around your age who have never had one. Don't feel bad. It can still happen for you.

Your second bullet point suggests you're punching above your weight. Let me ask you, are you a 4 or a 5 that thinks she should get an 8? Those guys are willing to f*** you by why on God's green earth would they date you?

This isn't to insult. But you ask the question and we're trying to help. You're 40 you're not in highly prized demographic anymore. You got strikes against you now. That's just reality. If you're not a good person to begin with you're going to find dating infinitely harder now.

Are you looking for the right people in the right place? Because it's easy to meet people anywhere, but people are usually tribal, meaning like-minded people gather in the same places. So there's a chance you're not finding people matching you because you didn't realize yet that you're looking in the wrong spot?

also, like-minded people tend to build a network of other like-minded people over time, they constantly signal themselves, more or less implicitly. So, once you find someone like-minded, be it friend or family, follow their trail, look closer at their network as it is most likely made of people sharing similar enough traits
