Ladies, how would you feel if a man you liked, asked you out to dinner, his treat and you had a great time but he paid with a gift card?

I read a story today where that happened to a woman. She was having a good time, thought he was attractive but when he paid with a gift card, she said to herself, "he ain't getting a second date."

While reading the comments, I was happy to see that the majority of women defended the man. I'll personally say, I wouldn't do that on a first date, I guess I do want to make somewhat of an impression on a first date.

What are your thoughts?

It a nice if he pays with his own money, but it’s not a demand. If a guy is poor, he might sacrifice too much to pay for me and I would not want that.

I had a "first date" ask if I wanted to go to Red Lobster. I hate seafood but I liked him, so, I said yes. He partially paid with a gift card but I didn't care. He chose me to ask, we had fun and I realized I actually like jumbo shrimp! To this day, I'll buy SeaPak jumbo shrimp at the store once a month.

I wouldn't let my date know how I paid. I would just discreetly hand the gift card and a credit card to the server.
