I can think of one event, but it's more about lack of analysis than it is about lack of intelligence.

We were both 17, I didn't know her much, but one conversation left a mark. We were chatting about I don't know what, I mentioned something about conditioning, in relation to some advertisement probably. And she didn't click, so I clarified what I meant with conditioning, yet she didn't understand.

I genuinely didn't understand why she didn't understand what I was talking about. Seen through my eyes, I was just talking about a basic idea. Besides, this notion was something we were regularly studying at school since a couple of years. Suddenly, the fact that she didn't have any idea of what I was talking about looked truly unsettling lol

It's hard to qualify what registers as "smart" to other people. I'll always go out with a guy who is VERY SMART, however typically he's a bit goofy where emotional expression is concerned. So I might not be "smart" with mechanical things, but he's not "smart" with th moments I get quiet bc I need space to process my feelings.
