How long should u wait before saying I love you in a relationship? how soon is too soon and how late is too late? I’m just wondering I’ve been with my boyfriend for 5 months and I’m trying to take it slow this time and I want it to mean something. I do feel like I’m starting to but I want him to say it first so I know he actually means it.

I honestly just think when the time feels right. My boyfriend and I were good friends for a couple years before we started dating. On I think our third date we went on a hike and he asked me to be his girlfriend, and then afterwards in a store in the ski-village (under his breath) he said he loved me. I was preoccupied with something else, but when I turned and said "sorry, what was that?" (when I knew), he said "nothing!" and ran off to another area of the store. It was really cute. Besides that I can't remember when we both said it.

Also if someone says it to me early, its not a deal breaker, they just have to be ok with the fact that I haven't gotten there yet.
