Like a couple of other guys have mentioned in responses to this question, most of my friends have mixed emotions about having me around as any sort of wingman. On the plus side I draw a lot of attention from women. So we end up with women in and around our group. On the downside for my buddies most of those women are trying to chat me up. LOL, maybe 6 months ago my friend was eyeing this woman at a bar. She suddenly gets up and leaves her friend to walk over to us and just starts talking like she'd known us for years. My friend got sort of pissed she was giving me all her attention and just blurted out... did you just come down here to meet "HIM"? LOL, I almost spit my drink out. Awkward. But hilarious too.
Believe me. Don't believe me. This stuff happens almost every Friday afternoon / evening. Maybe the most annoying thing to my friends is that I almost never engage with any of these women beyond the minimum of polite greetings.
I would not make a good wingman. In fact I don't exactly agree with it. People who do that often end up putting people in situations that they don't want to be in or embarrass them. I know 3 guys who often give me "advice" because I'm not dating any particular woman right now. Another friend of mine jokes that they are my "wingmen"... I really don't need their advice or want it really. It is outdated advice from when they were all 25. Now that we are all much older things are very different.
Anyway if someone likes to have a wingman or woman, and they feel that they benefit from it, then fine. Just with these nuts who think they want to coach me are stuck in the mindset of a 25 year old womanizer. I'm neither 25 nor a womanizer. LOL š
I once remember in the late 2000s that iconic open mic of that US airline pilot who among his open mic rant on ATC in the news reports snippets and or YouTube, he's like basically best friends with his FO (First Officer)" as like his wingman whenever he and him were off duty. Like going to the bar or going to the bar with his colleagues or whatever exploring their stop overs or whatever when having days off

Probably not. I tend to wander off by myself. One of my friends gave me shit for years about how we went to a club for NYE and he hardly saw me all evening.
