In a recent UK survey, 20% of boys aged 12–16 said they know peers actively “dating” AI chatbots. A majority—58%—prefer these digital relationships because they control every interaction, and more than a quarter now choose AI attention over real human connection.

At 12 I was still playing with my teddy bears and make believe relationships between them. Mummy daddy, babies.

I think it's much healthier if boys (cos they ARE boys) have pretend girlfriends. And AI will hive them emotional maturity and practise in a safe way that doesn't harm anyone. Unlike when 14 year old wanna play pretend relationships and end up being teen parents to an unexpected pregnancy.

Dating while a teenage boy is one of the most terrifying things that there is. Dating computers will take a lot of the terror out if it. However, it is like riding a bike with training wheels

so, they all might been talking about the same one kid... but the statistics makes you think of thousands or even millions of kids in the UK, which I am sure... it's not the case, lmao
