For this, what I mean is would you rather go on a date to a fancy dinner place or a more casual activity?
One I'd most want to do is cooking dinner together at a place. Fancy restaurants are awkward with the sitting across and whispering, no laughing or telling strange stories, it's the opposite of my idea of a good time.
Getting to know someone shouldn't feel like a job interview. For me to get anywhere with someone, the dresses need to come off, pun intended. I'd want to cook a meal with her, get to know eachother as we do, be all playful and silly, get past the edge and all that in a fun way, not staring across from a table and whispering at eachother.
I find it kinda hilarious, a room full of people in suits and dresses, whispering at eachother as if we can't all hear eachother, anyways... And let's not even discuss wine prices in restaurants. Rule of thumb, if the bottle is sold in the restaurant, you're almost certainly paying 5× retail price for the wine.

First of all... dating to me just means meeting up to fuck. But this concept of a "date" that other people have... playing dress up and doing a bunch of formal shit sounds like the most un-fun thing to put myself through. I mean, I'm trying to fuck, and we turned that into something like a job interview where I have to 'dance monky dance' and spin plates just to get a kiss? WTF... fuck all that. Burger king and fucking is what I offer... and then those people that do the big dates with all the fancy shit wonder why I fuck at least 4 girls a month and they're still talking to the same damn woman with a dry dick that hasn't felt vagina in a coons age. And they'll do it for years yo...
Lets do the math. Me: 4X/month Them: Dates but no puss...+1 year = I "practiced" sex on 52 different women, while they're still talking and "dating" the same chick that is slowly getting fat and haggard looking.
A relaxed playful one , so we both feel comfortable and relaxed and not nervous around each other , why I prefer talking to a girl and getting to know her before asking her out , I consider myself an honest guy that doesn’t want to blind side anyone, especially a girl that I am interested in. so I tend to lay everything out on the table for her to decide on whether she wants to take a chance with me or not. Some of best relationships were with girls’ that I got to know first as friends’ before I even asked her out on a date or to go somewhere with me. The girls’ that I met on a date right away was always a 50/50 chance on whether I would see her again or not? So to me it’s better to really get to know someone before taking them on a date , just so you both are on the same page with things and not questionable about it.
It’s definitely nice to dress up and look fancy, but overall, I prefer casual dates. I like simple ideas like going to the farmers' market, hiking, or possibly fruit picking, depending on the weather. I'm also down for going canoeing and or paddleboating on the lake.
Alex what's wrong with that? On one date I took her on a similar cycle ride to an Olympic cycling course, and we got to know each other, and she learned I was a very good cyclist if she ever doubted me lol.
But I wouldn't take just anyone on a date like this lol.
I think it all depends what kind of person you are, what kind of lifestyle, and this also applies to your date.
I think in the beginning of a relationship all dates are first dates, because you're getting to know each other.
Also if you decide to go to a restaurant you need to dress accordingly.
I'm not a cook, though visiting each other's homes on a first date seems to be putting added pressure on a relationship before it's begun, so I would avoid this situation.
I was sort of dating a neighbor, and we went playing sport together on our first date, we went visiting local attractions a small art gallery, botanical garden and we spent the whole day together, so not a suit and tie dress code.
I also showed her a little of the town on one date, and I dressed accordingly.
I was just me, I didn't put on a show, or do anything different I wouldn't do with friends, and my dates were friendly relaxed affairs.
I read that something like 80-90% of first dates don't have a second date. That's so much planning wasted on a restaurant date if she's inattentive and don't get me started on if she's a gold digger and makes you pay.

Probably just go for a short hike or something. Id have to know if she was looking for money or expecting me to win her or some shit. If that's the case the interest is strictly one way. Prostitutes get paid.
I'd prefer some place quiet enough to have a conversation. Indoors. Outdoors. Doesn't matter. At that point I'm trying to get to know her and I'd hope she has similar goals for the date.
