Is his interest fading after a great first date, or am I overthinking it?

Met a guy on Hinge, he took his time getting to know me before asking for my number/date. We finally went out last weekend and the first date lasted 7 hours. Since then we still text every day, he asks questions, sends thoughtful replies, and even sent me a pic of a restaurant because it reminded him of me.

Only thing is his texting got slower after the date. Before he’d apologize for replying 2 hours later, now sometimes it’s 4+ hours and no apology. But the energy itself still seems good, not dry.

It’s almost been a week since the date and he hasn’t directly asked for a second one yet. Am I overthinking or does this sound like interest fading?

You could also ask about a second date, you know, rather than waiting for him to do it.

I would not reply to him until he messages you and I would take as long to reply as he does. I'd also be looking for other people to date.
