Do some people really find a Southern accent unattractive?

I suppose it depends on where you're from. Mine sticks out around here because Arizona people don't really have any accent, not that I can hear anyway. I got made fun of in school a lot when I was little when I first moved here, but once you reach adult age and people grow up, I'm yet to find any guy who didn't like it, though it's pretty faint compared to 25 years ago.

The stereotype is sultry, scantily-clad, poorly-educated, vulnerable lasses serving lemonade on sticky evenings and trusting in the kindness of strangers... so to speak. I enjoy the stereotype even though it isn't real.

It's a bit declassé in professional circles in the United States. Most professionals who move beyond the South work to lose it. I was raised around Pittsburgh, PA but learned to speak broadcast English.

I do, to me it is very feminine. I also find an English accent sexy, I know there are different types but to me they all sound good.

There are more than one Southern accent. It would depend on which one.

Not at all. But if it is really heavy or twanging (if that is a word) it can make them sound uneducated.
