When you're very young, say in your teens, an age gap makes for difficulty. By the time you're nearing 30, it's less of an issue if the person is a few years older than you. Some people ignore 20 year gaps, but that is always a big difference and it's safe to consider how such a wide gap will affect your life in the future.

The only age gaps to look at is someone who is JUST starting to date someone 18 and is older than them.

That is where it can either he totally innocent or a nightmare backstory.

Then you have the obvious no gos with minors regardless.
