@Levin Eh... sometimes I just swipe to pass the time. 2 of 4 of my exes in the past were from dating apps and I got a few other dates from them. It's just been a desert for me likely because I'm older now with less options and not the greatest looking (maybe like a 6/10 tops).

There's always a chance I match with someone I like. Even if it's a low chance, I'd rather have the low chance than not, even if it's a little depressing 😂

Tinder is based on an algorithm that gets dumb, desperate and lonely men to pay. It's based on cheap gambling psychology, such as raising your profile in the stack for 24 hours so you get a little hit of success. Then the matches taper off and you're wondering what's wrong with you.

All match group dating apps are the same. They used to be better pre-covid but they really went for the scummy strategies to extract as much money as possible.

Matches in themselves do not have much value, because, well, like I say in my post, radius, quality of women (which is usually lacking - I swipe left on 95% of them). And then having a conversation with a brick wall... Presuming it's not a bot or a whore.

The only thing they probably indicate is some kind of socio-economic status value. In short, men who take good pictures and are 'successful' on instagram, will be so on tinder, also. The 90 percentile of men will do well on it. It also inflates and completely distorts women's value.

It is also for lazy men who will not approach in real life. Even though your success level in real life is going to be infinitely higher than on tinder, which is basically zero percent.

Of course, you will no doubt claim it doesn't harm you. To each their own.

I was on tinder years ago and did ok but talking to a lot of young men coming up its a waste time. Too many ghost profiles, women with unreasonable high standards, time wasters and possibly AI bots.
