Is it good to become unreachable to an ex?

For me I want to change my number and deactivate my Instagram.

The main reason is that I want a fresh start. But also I would like my ex to realise I am completely unobtainable. I just want to work on myself and disappear for a couple years.

When we broke up. This girl really hurt me, made me feel as if I did something wrong. She told me I’m untrustworthy and a player. It has had quite an impact on me as I know I’m a good person and have morals and a conscience. She gave me many reasons, I feel very hurt. It often makes me feel like I’m doing something wrong for trying to be attractive, good looking, confident and successful.

Nothing wrong with blocking at all, just be sure that once you do it, you know it’s for good. No plans of checking in or reaching back out in a few weeks, months, years.

Blocking is a bit like petty and reactive. Changing your number, and disappearing is more like moving on rather than bitterness

That’s a fair perspective, but in turn, I think ghosting could also be seen as a bit petty and avoidant in nature. In my opinion, I think blocking simply sets a boundary, it says that you don’t want the person having access to you. How they receive that message isn’t for you to concern yourself with, they don’t have to agree with how you shut that door. But it’s shut.

It seems like you’re doing. those things for the wrong reasons. You appear to be trying to prove a point to her. But losing things you care about for someone who may or may not even notice only hurts you. YOU are the one who will be inconvenienced by having to provide everyone with a new number and lose everything you had on your account for Instagram. Just block her on both and keep them.
