How can I get my preference to take me seriously, or should I move on?

My preference is Middle Eastern guys or pale-skinned men of color. I’m a light-skinned Black girl, and I’ve always been drawn to them and their personality.

I was wondering how I could be taken more seriously. I don’t drink or smoke, and I mainly just work a lot. About a year ago, I met an Arab guy who didn’t want anything serious with me because I didn’t live nearby, which is understandable. But he did want to spend time together and go places together.

I’ve noticed that when I talk to guys, they never seem interested in anything serious.

That’s a problem with a lot of guys regardless of race. Though I have heard it’s endemic with Arab guys born in the Middle East (though not so much Arab-American guys).
