Why do people assume I like emotionally unavailable men when I don’t?

Some users keep assuming I’m attracted to emotionally unavailable or unstable men, but that’s not true. I actually get unattracted when I find out a guy is emotionally unavailable. I’ve dated different guys, tried dating apps, and met people in public, but none of those dates have turned into a real relationship. I’ve also had ex‑boyfriends cheat on me in the past, including one who was tempted by another girl and went through with it. I also have moderate learning disabilities, so I try to communicate clearly and keep things light, but people still make assumptions about me that don’t match my actual experiences. Why do users jump to this conclusion about me when it doesn’t reflect how I feel or behave?

People on here only get a small glimpse of how you feel and behave and it's never the full picture, so sometimes people have to make judgements on incomplete information, and sometimes people just jump to conclusions based on what they like to claim anyway. So some just say it to fit their own view. People would have to write a novel to actually give ALL the info everyone needs to make an informed opinion because we are all strangers. Someone who knows you can give you a better answer because they have more information. Sometimes these conclusions are also just coincidence. People can only go off the info they have and if you happen to say you like a guy and he also happens to be unstable or unavailable, that's where the limited info leads you. Giving advice on the internet is an extremely inexact science unfortunately.

Because some people confuse who you end up dating with what you’re actually attracted to. Experiencing cheating, rejection, or unavailable partners doesn’t mean you prefer those traits. They’re making assumptions based on your relationship history, not your stated preferences
