Does seeking a serious relationship as a man disadvantage you?

This sounds like a dumb question I know but I see no indication that women are actively looking for serious relationships. I’m staring to think that I may have to just start putting casual feelers out there like a “looking for fun and we’ll see where it goes” vibes and see if it changes anything.

I would have thought things would get better in my 30s but social media has amplified this sort of casual relationship culture well into adulthood. I will say I am getting more initial “bite” from women as I age, more curiosity, but if I just keep the respectful good man thing going (which is my natural tendency by the way) things fizzle out fast. The women are boring, they barely text back, and if things do occasionally move towards meeting for a date, and there’s good conversation and things feel good, it gets to that point and they have all cancelled last minute.

I wish women weren’t the way they were and I could just be the honest and serious, loyal committed guy, but as a man it seems like you’re doomed from the start if you are this.

It’s as if it puts too much pressure on women and they don’t know how to deal with it. “Girls just want to have fun.” So maybe if I don’t come across like “the perfect man” and I say that in quotes because I’m not, but like a “serious boyfriend potential”, I can at least get my foot in the door with some of these girls.

Again, I hate that it’s like this but I almost feel like I have no choice at this point. Women really need to ask themselves what they are doing when it comes to this shit. It’s like they just want inconsequential attention and interactions, because that’s exactly what they set themselves up for. As men, we have to constantly put ourselves out there in uncomfortable situations, and I just don’t see women being willing to approach things the same way. It’s a shame.
