Do men forget about you when you give them space?

I’ve been going out with this guy for 3 months now. He’s been having some confusion about us. He said he likes me a lot but he’s dealing with a lot of personal issues. I offered that we take some time apart so he can figure out his issues because I felt me being around was preventing him from having a clear mind. He was accepting of it and said I can message him anytime during this time of space, but I told him it’s best if I don’t. I expressed that I will miss talking to him and that it hurts but I want this to work.
I know 3 months isn’t long but I’m starting to miss him a lot. And these thoughts start entering my mind, like does he miss me too? Will this space push him away? Will he forget about me and move on in this time? I know I need to work through some of these insecure thoughts but I do wonder if I risked everything.

When someone has second thoughts about the relationship, it usually means that the relation is on the blink. He was just waiting for an excuse to sever that relationship and you offered it to him on a golden plate.

I would say that you did indeed risk everything and that he is not likely going to come back. People having confusions about a relationship are those that are not comfortable with the partner. The longer that space thing lasts, the less likely it is that he will ever come back.
