It means that he would rather have an actual conversation with you, and not just one via text.
Could mean that he likes you or like what everyone else said, texting is expensive and he's trying to save money.
Because he doesn't like texting perhaps? I would think that's a good think since talking on the phone is much more interesting anyways.
some people just don't like texts. I do that with my boyfriend. I hate texting, it's too impersonal
I generally perceive texting as being less important.
