Long time between first date and second date

Hi people, got a few questions.

I have taken this girl out for a first date, and I'd like to take her out for a second date, but the problem is, we probably won't cross path in the next 6 months as her work is on the other side of the country while I am going to be transferred back there in 6 months time.

What are the ways to keep in touch with her without coming across as trying too hard? Also, do girls think it's possible for something like this to work out (I know she's not the only one, but she is a pretty good catch)?

text and Facebook is definitely not too hard, unless it's all the time. It's totally possible for it to work out :) You should write a letter, with paper, like once or twice, it'll keep her interested in you :)
