I'd rather be almost broke working at McDonalds than completely broke on the street.
I actually feel sad about how few public universities there are in the USA.
This feels like a bit of an orthogonal statement. Besides 629 four year universities and over 4,000 total (ref. https://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0908742.html) hardly seems like a cause for tears. Paying for them? Well, that might make the eyes water a bit.
Im at college and i work there part time, if i could I would burn the place to the ground in clensing flames !!!
Increasing wages causes inflation to increase.
There's been no physical proof of the two correlating in such a manner. In fact, if minimum wage scaled properly with inflation, we would have a $20 minimum wage. Inflation is caused by decreased value in the dollar and an increased supply in circulation, which is caused by banks creating loans and debt, especially the federal reserve. It isn't caused by businesses paying their workers more.
It's also been shown that businesses who do pay their workers more actually increase in success, Costco being a prime example.
Increasing wages will increase costs for businesses. They will have to put prices up to pay the higher wages. Average price increases is inflation
