It is not like you see it in those American movies!

If you think university will be like in those American movies then think again! It is not! You don't get something for nothing. It is a lot of hard work. A lot of late and sleepless nights as you finish work that needs to be handed in. It is also a lot of studying. University can be fun at times but can also be very stressful.

It is a granted job?

Many people get a job in their area of study afterwards but there is no granted job at the end of your study. There are many people that study, get their qualifications and are still unable to get a job in the industry they studied in.

I will get the best job in the company after studying at university?

False! For most people it does not work this way. Most people that do get a job in their area of study still start at the entry level of the company and still have to work their way up. Very few people step strait into the top job. Think of it like this "If you did not have the degree in the first place you would not even get entry into that company". Most times a degree is giving you entry to the company not the top job the moment you arrive.

Some degrees are easier to get jobs after than others?

This is true! Some degrees hardly ever have jobs at the end of them and are more studied for interest rather than employment reasons. Other degrees maybe so popular that getting a job afterwards is very difficult and other degrees may result in a job faster especially if there is a shortage of people in the area of work you studied in.

Now don't get me wrong I am not anti university study, I have been to university myself but I do think some people have unreasonable expectations of what studying at university will result in.

The take is completely true.
When I first went to the university 6 years ago, I thought I'd get a job after my bachelors. Now Im on verge of completion of my masters and still there is no guarantee I'd get a job. I was advised by a pharmacist in Pfizer (US pharma company) to continue with a PhD and a PDF after masters. If you have just the bachelors you need to work your way up but with a PDF, you land into a prestigious position. I do not know how one survives till a PDF!!! I think I'll finish my degrees with my children xD xD xD

University basically takes all your life. It is a mixture of sleepless nights, a lot of staying at home and being asocial (forcefully), I need to work for paying my studies off and hence that takes away my youth too. Moreover the students are all mostly competition oriented and it is really difficult to have true friends from your own class. Professors are nutty (really intelligent but moody and nutty).

Even though I love studying and learning and managing and organizing. Universities are not that bad.

Couldn't agree more on the last part. I have cousins that are doctors, accountants, directors, lawyers and stuffs, and some got a job pree fast even tho they're freshly graduates and some have been jobless for a year or two until they got a job in their field.

This take is scaring me lol 😂 I'm entering uni next year and for someone that didn't even bother to study all throughout high school and college, I have no idea how I'd do next year 🙈

University is ok if you do the work. The tutors don't just throw assignments at you and say here you go, they explain what they want done. Remember to ask questions if you are not sure. It is part of their job to answer students questions. Remember you are paying their wages and they would not have jobs if it was not for you students. Also remember you must hand everything in even if you have achieved a pass mark already if you don't hand everything in you will still fail.

I rely on presentations and stuffs to help me score instead of tests and exams 😂 which is why I'd rather have no sleep to rush for projects than to study..

I remember I use to have this tutor from Germany and he was such a crack up telling us all these funny different stories.
