If a girl gets sent home because she wore a crop top or booty shorts, then yeah that's understandable. But more frequently, I keep hearing about girls who get sent home for exposing stupid parts of their bodies, like their shoulders, their knees, or their collarbones. I see pictures of the outfits they got sent home for and they don't look inappropriate at all. I'm not sure if I would necessarily call it sexist, but it is definitely stupid.
If anything they're meant to maintain public decency, and there's dress code for men too, but usually men don't fall victim to it because it's pretty much just "keep your shirt on bro".
Meanwhile in college there is no "dress code" so I literally see girls show up in sports bras. Sure it's hot, but it's also very distracting and I don't think the other women were impressed.

To a point yes it is. I dont think any female though should be walking around in the outfit you posted whether its school, work or grocery shopping. I do think when its being made into a big deal that girls can't wear shorts or skirts and tank tops when it is hot outside. When I was in school girls had to put their arms by their side and depending on where the tips of their fingers went that is how short/long your shorts or skirts could be. That was ridiculous because not everyone has the same arm length. Also if a girl is too young to be wearing certain things than she is also too young to be sexualized that way.
I just have an issue when I get coded for wearing a tank top (which is within the dress code) because I have cleavage but some skinny chick with a crop top and no boobs (not in code) doesn't. I understand how cleavage is an issue but give me a little break, it's 90° and these puppies aren't keeping me cold. I'd prefer if they were consistently enforced

That's because you have more to show. It's like if I see a small fire and large fire, I'm going to extinguish the large fire first.
You can't expect to have all benefits when wearing clothes. Just shut up and focus on school.
There's no need to be rude. Behind my health, my education is my first priority. All I'll saying is that I want it to be consistent. I'm fine for both of us getting coded it's just she needs to be as well. Another issue is what the hell do I wear instead. Most things are gonna let my boobs cook like an oven and I'd rather not have another heat stroke. So I'll wear whatever makes me comfortable and is as close to code as I can get and focus on my education.
How was that rude? I'm being honest, I'm sorry that we're not all special snowflakes like feminists want you to believe.
The reason is, your body will draw more attention. Plain and simple. Why is that so hard for you to understand? I think busty women just want all the benefits of it, but don't want to take responsibility for themselves, it's so got damn annoying.
Telling someone to shut up isn't exactly polite, but I'm not here to argue that. Anyways me and my back fully understand what it means to have a large bust and the responsibilities of that. Like I said before, I completely understand if I get coded, but if a small busted girl is directly violating the code for say a crop top and does not get coded, that's when I'm upset. That is all, nothing more or less.
I'd agree that both should be coded, but I also think it's fair that those with desired body types be coded first. Like I said, your body will cause more distractions. Sorry, I don't make the rules, I just negatively reinforce them.
Everything comes with benefits and trade offs, this is yours.
Many of the schools have female head teachers. Most of the teachers are female. In what way girls are put at disadvantage that guys are not. It would be sexist if guys are able to get away with something girls can not.
Rules are rules. If you have a problem with rules then you change them, not try to get away with it breaking them. If parents didn't agree with these rules, those rules wouldn't be in place to begin with. I see no reason why dress codes are sexist.
It depends on the school. I've been to places where men can wear shorts and wife beaters, but girls can't wear tank tops that show literally no cleavage I've also been to schools where guys had to wear the school approved outfit if caught sagging. It just depends on where you go to school.

You kind of get it, but again, it's not the dress code that is sexist, it's the staff.
The places where I went to school actually had a regulated dress code made by higher ups I'm not sure if it was the state itself, or just the area's school board, but it was decided upon what was appropriate. The people making the rules had never even seen any students or what they usually wore, so I thought it sounded odd to have them deciding what people could wear
Dress codes are not sexist, lol who the hell is going to show up to an interview in a mini skirt? A porno maybe. I don't know why dressing like a slut is a fashion trend then girls complain when guys treat them like one, seriously wear a shirt, button up and stop bitching over something known as common decency.
I'm doing fine. This is my favorite time of year and things are going well except for my hatred of my phone/internet provider! LOL (If I don't LOL I'd have to cry! Those idiots totally screw everything up!)
AT&T. Dealing with them is like a good way to go crazy. They literally don't know what they're doing. I would have cancelled my services and gone with another company a long time ago but I don't want to change my email address. (But I'm this close to doing it anyway.) I've found that the trick to dealing with them is to threaten to cancel, and then the customer service person will transfer you to someone in "customer retention." Those people actually have the power to fix things. (Although they still screw things up!)
Wait til your educated enough to know skank wear from normal adult wear , then choose. It's obvious that the pic of almost cloths was not thought of very long before putting them on. Anyone that would head out of the house wearing these is not looking to be educated in nothing other than breeding habits and techniques
Lol in all of highschool in Switzerland this problem didn't come up once. I don't even know if there was a dresscode in the 2 schools I was in. Girls could wear pretty much whatever they wanted but mostly they dressed pretty modestly. I never witnessed anybody get sent home.
Without saying they can never be, I don't think the general statement is true. But of course, who says that the dress code for some events can't have made with wrong intents? So from time to time you're right... in most cases not I guess (and hope) :D
Actually when I was in high school, it was sexiest against boys. Girls were able to wear lilghter/more revealing clothes than boys. I use to get sent home for wearing tag tops when the girl next to me didn't have any trouble wearing spagetti strap top... like WTF is that about?
Men are often required to wear itchy dress pants, a heavily starched shirt and a tie, if not an actual suit. There is no other office attire that is acceptable for men. Women, meanwhile, can get away with murder, wearing light billowy pants or skirts, loose blouses or frocks, sweaters...
They're not sexist at all. Some women will complain about a "sexist dress code", but then they'll also complain about men checking them out in the same sentence. Can't have it both ways, ladies.
I don't... I mean, I hate dress ccodes but I wouldn't say it's sexist... I mean, if a dude came in wearing a short skirt and a bellytop he'd get expelled too XD

THANK YOU! Lol I feel like women are so fucking stupid these days and cry sexism for everything.
It's not even just women, it's men and women of every race and religion just love to fucking complain... case and point, I'm currently complaining about others complaining XD
I had a job with a dress code, and all the examples of what not wear were all for women. No excessively tight clothes, No shoes past your ankles, No excessavily revealing clothing. I was reading that I started to laugh. But as a guy dont really think about sexist stuff unless it sexist against guys. most of the dress codes are for women and i dont really thing about it.. its kinda sexy. like the formal catholic schoolgirl girl with the plaid skirt. dam
The only time dress code shouldn't apply is PE. Running outside in the hot sun? I'll be damned if I'm wearing a uniform or even a regular Tshirt. A tank top is perfect for keeping cool.
And also booty shorts and crop tops should be a requirement for girls😏

I find it fascinating just how much they seem to lack basic self-awareness.
I don't think they're sexist.
Even guys have a dress code, tbh I'm pretty sure a gu wearing booty shorts will get sent home as-well !
Thank you! That's literally how it is. I'm not sure why so many girls bitch about it

It makes me happy that I'm able to completely agree with you on this! You make a really strong argument. Well done.
Lol I'm not a fan of these phony "I'm such a victim!" movements because it trivializes actual cases of sexism/racism/etc.
Good point. I'm glad to see you back on GAG. I missed you for a little bit. Hope you're doing well. :)
Haha thanks. And I'm fine. Just working 2 jobs and whatnot. So I've been tired. You?
I'm doing fine. This is my favorite time of year and things are going well except for my hatred of my phone/internet provider! LOL (If I don't LOL I'd have to cry! Those idiots totally screw everything up!)
Who do you have? Because I know I have Comcast and they suck so much ass.

as sexism is defined as a belief that one gender is superior to the other or given preferential treatment...
absolutely not.

Girls showing shoulders? Whattttttt
Dress codes in the office are sexist against MEN.
Men are often required to wear itchy dress pants, a heavily starched shirt and a tie, if not an actual suit. There is no other office attire that is acceptable for men. Women, meanwhile, can get away with murder, wearing light billowy pants or skirts, loose blouses or frocks, sweaters...
Yes, like I say, equality only works one way on gender.
They're not sexist at all. Some women will complain about a "sexist dress code", but then they'll also complain about men checking them out in the same sentence. Can't have it both ways, ladies.
That is the problem, women want to burn the candle at both ends so to speak.
@bobbyxx Not this woman. I'm all for teaching everyone accountability for their actions.
I don't... I mean, I hate dress ccodes but I wouldn't say it's sexist... I mean, if a dude came in wearing a short skirt and a bellytop he'd get expelled too XD

Yes, fetishizing schoolgirls is creepy

Fairly common is still creepy.
welll its your opinion
