Boyfriend keeps quitting jobs?

I have been with my boyfriend for a little over a year. We've known each other for a long time and due to a bad family history, I live with him & his family. I'm 16. I worked a part time job at McDonalds, with about 40 hours a week. I was able to balance this with schoolwork and a sport. My boyfriend, on the other hand, keeps quitting his jobs. Since we have been dating, he has worked at 3 different jobs. He first worked at a movie theater, and they treated him very well. He would show up late, "forget" he had work that day, or call in "sick" all the time. Despite this, they still kept him. He decided to quit that job claiming there "aren't enough hours" and they "don't pay enough". He then started working at a fast food restaurant, where he got lots of hours and great pay. All was fine until he started making excuses to not go to work again. He then took a month and a half break from working because he found it hard to balance school and work. After taking a break, he just flat out quit. About a month later, his friend offered him a job at the farmers market. He only works weekends, and gets very good pay. It seemed like it was finally working. He liked his job. Suddenly, he started lying saying they didn't need workers on Sundays. After about 2 weeks of this, I found out. When I confronted him, he said he'd go in. He went to work today and just texted me he's coming home early & he quit. Again. This time because he embarrassed himself at work and he didn't like his boss. I don't know what to do. I don't want to drag him to work for the rest of our lives. How do I get him to hold a job? It's like he has no work ethic. We get along in every sense, we have a great relationship, but I don't know what to do to get him to work. We're starting college next fall and between the two of us we have 3 pets to support. One of which is very sick and racking up hefty vet bills. I can't support them alone, and I can't pay his college loans. I need his help but I don't know how?
