Is working a maintenance job embarrassing?

I work at a nursing home currently as a CNA and I have an interview at my local Walmart to be a maintenance person because I am getting burnt out on my job and it’s physically exhausting. The maintenance job is pretty much janitorial. I told a friend of mine about it and she said she couldn’t picture me doing that job & she said that she wouldn’t want to be a maintenance person at Walmart because she thinks it’s “weird”? I didn’t really think anything about it, but her saying that kind of made me feel bad for some reason for wanting to take it. I’m not sure if she thought it’s embarrassing or what, but I assume that’s what she meant.

Work is work. Take pride in it. It's a paying job.
You have good reasons for taking it. If you are burnt out this is what you need as a break. Never mind someone turning up their nose at it.

Working with people who have health problems can be draining. If the maintenance job is more relaxing and will cover your bills it might be helpful. With Walmart the job is only as good as the store manager you work under.

Hey do it if you think it is what you should be doing right now. Don't worry about what others think. And no, it isn't "weird". I can see why you'd be burned out on being a CNA right now.
