What, If Any Level Of Security Clearance Did You Have To Pass For A Job?

I'm not sure what level they use for "City employee" jobs cuz I knew someone that got hired for a City Employee Job that involved driving a City Owned vehicle even though not only was their license suspended that had DUI's on their record like WTF...
But my job was a Federal Government Agency, so had to go through both FBI and Homeland Security Clearance

Every time I signed out a sidearm for protection of military intelligence personnel as part of my Battalion Driver Duty responsibilities, or being debriefed about classified tactical intelligence information that came through my Vincent I field encryption computer communications equipment for the Company Commander I was designated CORTO- 11 B. that wereway beyond my pay grade. Non. Coms. never cared about that kind of thing since our orders for deployment usually came straight from the Oval office of the West wing, anyway, and the Army embraced the "LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS" policy of keeping our traps shut during upgraded alert status standby's on base, (everyone near quad area, gear stowed and weapons card's resigned for immediate deployment when recieving tasking orders from POTUS chief's of staff) the Department of the Navy promoted on posters everywhere during WW2. Unfortunately, any information I relayed from NORAD or the Pentagon involving Nikesite installations littering Koli, Koli Pass throughout the Kahookoo mountains (Mobile, outdoor ICBM launch platforms I occasionally got stuvk with guard duty for. Military Intelligence operatives and the anal retentive CIA guys aren't comfortable with unsecured data being passed around like crabs and legionares's disease. That was a good example of the daily grind for me at Sholfield Barracks back im the 80s and 90's.

When I was selected for commission training by the Australian Army, the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (think of a domestic CIA) gave me a thorough vetting.
I felt profoundly sorry for a female coursemate, who was taken off base for a day of interrogation because when she was an exchange student with a family in then West Germany she was taken into East Germany with them when they visited relatives.
Such was the level of paranoia that a schoolgirl, who went on a day trip into the then Eastern Block, was subjected to a day of good-cop-bad-cop interrogation.
The entire course of officer candidates were more than a little disgusted by the event.

Mine was i had to be a Christian so they had to talk to the minister to know that i had a faith in God through my church. It was a government job for people with disabilities who needed the loving care they needed without having staff that were not carying staff.

I had to get a criminal background check done once. The job required that I be bonded & the back ground check was part of it.

the order of clearance is as follows: public trust, confidental, secret, top secret, top secret secret compartmentalized information (SCI), Top secret SCI with polygraph, Q level, a higher level clearance involves the filling out of the SF 86, a very intrusive form that goes over ALL your personal information including sexual habits, financial history, travel history, and a full interview with all your neighbors and former partners

the jobs you are describing would be public trust. anyone with a clearance higher than that is not at liberty to answer your questions on a public forum (well maybe the confidental those are both pretty low maintenance)

secret clearances must be renewed once every 7 years and top secret must be renewed with a full investigation every 3-5 years

When I was at Uni I got a bar job to earn me a bit of cash whilst studying. I can genuinely tell you word for word how my interview went and what security checks I went through.
Interviewer... Have you ever done bar work before?
Me... No
Interviewer... Have you ever had a job handling money before?

When I went to professional umpire school, they told us if we were selected to go to Umpire Development , that we would be interviewed with a lie detector by an ex FBI agent and to answer questions as truthfully as possible. They wanted to know if you ever gambled on sports, especially baseball.

I had to go through a TS/SCI/FS background several years ago and It was a colossal bitch. The background took almost a year-and-a half, two polygraphs, psychological tests, multiple interviews, interviews of friends, family, and third-party people which was names given to them by friends and family.

I will never go through that shit again for any job.

Just fingerprints iirc. They never find anything though, I have a clean record. Only two things I can think of that might have been on said record were 1, misunderstandings, and 2, not even resulted in arrests anyways lol.
