How is cable management like, for you 🔌 ?

How is cable management like, for me... it just must be done correctly to start with. There is nothing worse than walking into a nightmare like this:

Having it done correctly the first time it was set up, by someone who actually cares:

It amazes me at times when I see just how carelessly some idiots just make such a mess.
I've spent many a weekend doing exactly this.
I remember one room so bad they called in black box to fix it, they laughed, took pictures and left.
It was ten times worse than this and there was litteraly one one working 4' florescent light in the room.
To make things worse they had phone punch downs on ether side of the room including two different panels with the SAME LABELING. I litteraly had to tone every line and label it just to get started.
Typically using a zip tie or twisty tie will help you with a lot of cable tanglement issues, I like to keep my things clean and tidy as well. :)
Having worked with my brother in law who does IT. I was forced to be a pro. Sometimes when we went on jobs we'll spend half the day sorting through wires becuase the previous technicians didn't give a fuck.
Not as bad as it used to be. What I do now is "label" both sides of long cables with non-conducive duct tape, in different colors and patterns, so I know at a glance which is what. It helps.

I did that now I realize I dont want to touch it, even though my curtain's ip jump off.
In my house it is neat and tidy. It kind of helps that I have a background in IT and the audio/video installation fields. So I have through experience learned how to keep it neat and tidy.
I try to keep everything labeled and organize it so it doesn't get tangled
I have a vast assortment of cable ties and ty-raps. I like to have a nice neat installation.
I am walking through a sea of cables every single day. Somedays I am afraid that I will be electrocuted.
worse than spaghetti.. lol But seriously.. It looks fairly tamed. monitor cable to router cable. I got a wireless keyboard and mouse. so it seems ok
It might be fun, I'm studying cyber security and i love IT
@SabinaV So, what skill do you have that no one would know about until they got to know you better? Personally, I have too many, and I just end up sounding like I'm bragging after I get into my third hour of discourse... and yes, I have found that not to be anything that people actually care to hear me go on about... So, now I'm all about finding out about others and only saying anything about me when asked and as quickly as I can get it over with... lol
So @SabinaV are you in the IT Profession or are you just wanting to be in it... You really should consider getting into cybersecurity... never know when it may turn out to be useful. I would highly recommend it, since it is a highly in demand profession... where the capabilities of a highly effective penetration tester combined with those with an in depth knowledge in assembly can make one a highly sought after and highly paid self-contracted... You could almost call them a gun for hire.
So, if you are even considering to go into such a lucrative field, hey let me know and If I can help you out, I will gladly do so... we so need women in this field, simply for your ability to see things just a bit differently and you have no idea how much that can help.
Sweet, I have a double major in Computer Science and Math, MS in Cybersecurity and my MBA (that was a bit harder than I thought it would be) I'm also, considering whether to push towards getting my Doctorate in Cybersecurity ot going for a Juris Doctor (JD) and the main reason I would go for that type of Law Degree would be to lend credence to my ability to write cybersecurity policy.
Clinical Psychology... that could really be applied to many different things that could make use of a train insight on peoples behavior... good choice.
Not good.
Thereโs tangled cables everywhere and I hate it.
Canโt help it though.
ohhh god i hate it lol
Interesting
