When people come to you for issues that could've just been figured out by clicking around like a retard and the IT part of it is probably just a side gig on top of some real job task you're being judged on getting done? ... it can get to the point of wishing the worst for others. It's like "just figure it out" like seriously wtf?

As someone who works in IT, I fortunately don't have to work with customers anymore. When I did, though... oh my fucking god.

Don't get me wrong, I'm good at customer service, so I always got along with them very well. I was patient with them, and even let them vent when they needed to, but the level of sheer stupidy some people possess made me want to drill into my own brain sometimes.

I work in IT support (I managed a team of four). Most are accepting and tolerant but there are some people who when you see their name you just think "oh god please no...".

At times I wonder why we don’t just employ a hamster as IT manager, then I realise you can’t throw a hamster from the third floor as it’s cruel.

Lmao. There seems to be an unwritten adversarial relationship between IT support and those of us who are called "only a user." IT people it seems like "systems." I had one on my staff who handles web content and general tech issues come into my office with a proposal to create a "help desk system." Funny, I thought we already had one. I know where his desk is, if I need help I go get him.

Yeah the problem they have with us, is A they report to me and also the other teams are made up of engineers and software developers and security stuff.
Sort of removes IT trying to come up with technical bollox why they can’t fix something.
