Well one time I went to work so sick that I woke up and got so dizzy I literally FELL back into my bed, passed out, managed to then crawl out of bed stumbled to work (I mean stumble, I couldn't stand straight let alone walk), got cussed out for being late and in mid cuss out they stopped to ask what is wrong as I had to grab a table to try and catch myself from falling at which point they told me to go prep everything and then I could go home (I worked in a restraunt by the way and yes, this is normal for restraunts don't be delusional in thinking they send sick people home (they didn't even let a sick guy stay home during covid. Do you know what vomit looks like shooting out of a face mask? I do. I do.)). So after a few hours of trying not to cut off fingres while swaying back and forth and seeing double (no easy feat) I was led to a table and written up for being late while nearly falling out of the chair, then I went home and slept for 30 plus hours straight, woke up and went to the bathroom, ate some food, then after about being up for two hours, passed out for another 14.

The lessoned I learned is. . . don't ever fucking come in to work sick, you will be miserable and they will treat you like shit because you are a robot in their eyes and your not allowed to be sick, but if you call in thanks to employee manual guarentees you do get to call in sick without them ever being able to do anything to you (So long as you follow the rules in the manual).

--------Stayed up with a buddy of mine until 4 am drinking and carrying on. My flight left at 530 am. Didn't get any sleep and had a layover in chicago for 4 hours before flying to my final destination. No where to sleep in the airport. Was nauseous the entire time. Didn't get to my hotel room until 7pm which then I had a work dinner to attend. You can say I never did anything that foolish again. Big learning lesson. Don't drink the day before a travel day.

After staying awake nearly 72 hours straight working with disaster relief teams to aid calamity victims in typhoon-stricken Philippines, my body started to weaken alarmingly due to extreme fatigue. Though I didn't collapse, I felt like I nearly did. My boyfriend then (husband now) rushed me back to base camp which, unfortunately, wasn't nearby and being continuously battered by the passing super typhoon. He was also dead tired & fatigued. We found shelter in a tent already filled with suffering victims.

Just when we finally started to fall into much-needed deep sleep, our tent was ripped by the strong winds and blown away. With whatever little re-charge we got from our nap & food rations, we immediately went back to work aiding the victims that were also sharing our tent.

It took another 10 hours before we were relieved by another team of volunteers.

I have epilepsy and I had a seizure while I was up getting ready for work. I woke up in my bed confused how I got in my bed and was wearing my work clothes ready for work. Realized I had a seizure and went to work that day. That day was so awful and felt like crap the entire day at work. Couldn't keep my eyes open, so sleepy, my head was so foggy, my head hurt like hell, and that day I did not remember anything at work. When you have a seizure all you want to do is sleep and when I got out of work that's what I did for the rest of the day when I got home.

When I was a Middle School and Senior High School. I was on a diet that I ate just a little bit of food plus I would exercise and that was the worst thing I could ever do
I developed low blood sugar / I had to eat more food to bring my sugar up/ I loss over 100 lbs but as these symptoms went on, after graduation, I slowly gained it all back then I developed mental health illnesses at age 21, by the time I reached my 30's I was weighing over 300 lbs, then I was diagnosed with Low T, Diabetes, High Blood pressure, and Sinus Tachycardia but since all of that I once again lost 100 lbs again and now I want to reach 60 lbs to reach my goal.. Life was a battle with parents arguments., my dad and his drinking, bullies from School

About 12 years ago I got hit with a flu virus that rendered me bedridden for nearly a week. But I tried to work on that first day and I made through half a shift and then I was done. I didn't leave voluntarily though. My boss ordered me to go home and come back when I felt better. I tried to argue, but she was firm. I must have looked like shit. Sure felt like it. The shakes, the vomiting, the aches were more intense than any flu I ever had. It's the sickest I've ever been. I lost over 10 pounds. It took me over a week after I felt better to regain all of my energy.

Last trip to Afghanistan, working in the ops center. There were weeks that we had multiple teams running missions. I'd go two days up, 6-7 hours sleep and two days up and 6-7 hours sleep. I'd do that 3 or 3 times, sleep normal for a day then go back to that.
That's when the ticking in my ears started. It's a form of tinnitus but it's not ringing, it's ticking. Like the sound of the Aswang.
I've also got a sleep disorder that started after that trip. I need Ritalin to stay awake if I'm ever sitting and doing paperwork. If I'm on my feet All day I'm fine.
I don't have trouble sleeping at night, unlike many of the guys I worked with.

I had my nose done a week before I started a new job in IT programming. I recently had my stitches removed (around each nostril), and I couldn’t touch or clean the area so I had black crust outlining my entire nose and inside my nostrils... just filled with black and red crusted blood in chunks and scabs. First week at my new job and I had to take my ID photo and go out to lunch and meet my new team. I looked disgusting lmao

Well in my situation since I'm still in high school but here we go. I had a midterms week and I didn't study for my biology midterm so my body panicked. I was vomiting, had a migraine, had dizziness and my body refused to work. So the midterm started I took a shower, took medicine, took a lot of sips of an electrolyte drink. It was late 7 minutes because an idiot decided it was a good idea to fucking drive into me and the driver took the head of the window and yelled “fuck you bitch ass niggah!!!” and I panicked because the driver was fucking driving into me! I went in and I had a panic attack. I took meds later it was ok, I did the midterm I scored a 96%. But it was just terrifying and miserable I wished like 37 times that I was dead.

Well, besides the obvious times I went in with what felt like a Category V hangover and a full-body sprain, I have gone to work heavily concussed after a car accident and also went back to work on a Monday following surgery on Friday (usual recuperation time 30 days).

I worked for a great company for 30 years. I had lots of paid sick leave. So I tended to call in sick when I wasn't feeling well.
I did have a kidney stone once. It went on for quite a while. It was very painful to the point of sometimes being nauseous, but didn't incapacitate me so I had to work. It finally passed.

Jagged, grain of sand like thing gets stuck in your ureter, between your kidney and bladder. The ureter has a very small diameter. The pain is like a sharp stick being poked from the inside of your right or left lower front abdomen. Like a very sharp, steady, localized, almost burning cramp. At times it's worse than others until it finally passes. Once it works its way to your bladder, you're fine.

For me I think it was when I was a triangle you know how hard it is to get into a car being a triangle. Yeah I'm hard it was to walk so I started eating a lot but then I became a square for a few days I couldn't fit through the fucking door of my house I kept hitting the door frame every time I would try to leave or come back home so I started eating more Donuts no I'm round now I can just roll around any place I want to go. I don't even have to use the car anymore

Went out on new years eve, I'm in a different city.

I'm supposed to be off and not in call.

I get called in because of a network outage. I was a wan engineer for a major Telco interchange between several networks (sprint, at&t, PAC bell, bell south etc)

I've got most of a fifth of vodka in me. I have to take a taxi ($250 ride lol) I come in , hardly able to stand but I got the network up and running, passed out on an old as400 system because it was warm in the cold room.

I turned my ankle on a slippery storm grate. I could feel it pop so I knew it was bad. I still had to go to work because I had no sick time. I spent the whole day on my feet. I kept a pair of high top sneakers in my office so I didn;'t have to wear boots all day. By the end of the day it was so swollen I couldn't get my boot back on. When I got home my wife took my socks off and looked at it. It was all purple, even my toes were purple. I had it x-rayed but fortunately it was just a bad sprain.

I was 19. Went out drinking the night before and woke up hungover. I didn't have anything to eat before I went to work and was super dehydrated throughout the day. I honestly thought I was gonna throw up. Keep in mind that I stocked shelves for my job and was always on my feet moving stuff, so not eating and being dehydrated just destroyed me. I was so weak and barely made it though the day. Didn't do that again.

I got super sick a few years back. I was baby sitting a kid whose mother said had a little cold. Well, two days later I ran 103, got strep and then Epstein barr. And that lasted a month (though no longer contiguous) I still was subbing for dance instructors then... probably why it took me so long to recover.

I had a thick pipe fall off the rafters in a barn. It hit me in the head and gave me a concussion. I was throwing up, had a severe headache and blurry vision. I still finished out the day.

Another time I was using a rachet hole punch to make a hole in a metal panel. I was using my chest as leverage against the panel. I ended up breaking 3 ribs. It hurt to breathe, laugh, twist, sneeze and cough. I wrapped duct tape around my chest so I can finish the job.

I’ve left the ER and reported to work after IV pain killers. I’ve had extreme vomiting and dysentery and ran several times from the job site. I’ve walked off the job and into the ER For a multiple day stay with a life threatening heart condition only cause I was almost blacking out. I’ve been afflicted with mind blowing kidney stone pain for months and came to work... I’ve gone days without sleep and been hallucinating at work... I don’t know which is the worst to be honest...

It was definitely in my early 20's when going out with friends and drinking all night then going to work hung over. I remember one night in particular when we played some stupid drinking game and I tried to leave at about midnight and got talked in to "one more game". It's never one more game and I felt like absolute dog sh! t the next day. Drink a dozen beers, a dozen shots and sleep for about an hour before heading off to work. 🤢

I worked at a call centre and had to put a client on hold while I threw up, then the next caller I actually passed out.

20 minutes later I was back on the lines. 20 minutes after that I was sent home for passing out again.

Intestinal infection, usually brought on by taking a lot of antibiotics, that kills the 'good' bacteria in the intestine. You develop diarrhea and they can't stop it. Brother (a nurse) said I probably got it at 24 Hour fitness, from handling equipment of someone infected. He said persons can be 'carriers' and don't know they have it. Terrible illness, and thought I was going to die. Brother flew here (CA) to try to help. Of course, when you get 'sick' at work, you have no idea exactly what is wrong, and you just go on as much as you can. Never will forget that 'sick day"

A "Secret" remedy, and in a half hour, even half-assing it, I am 200% beyond most of the others in my group!
Nobody is going to know, because I am not that whiner, that takes a "sick day" because they might be hung over, after St. Patrick's Day, or whatever!

Not work, but school. I was in second grade and had such a high fever that I had extreme vertigo. It felt like the classroom was moving in waves and that I was going up and down. I ended up projectile vomiting due to the nausea.
