I’ve left the ER and reported to work after IV pain killers. I’ve had extreme vomiting and dysentery and ran several times from the job site. I’ve walked off the job and into the ER For a multiple day stay with a life threatening heart condition only cause I was almost blacking out. I’ve been afflicted with mind blowing kidney stone pain for months and came to work... I’ve gone days without sleep and been hallucinating at work... I don’t know which is the worst to be honest...
It was definitely in my early 20's when going out with friends and drinking all night then going to work hung over. I remember one night in particular when we played some stupid drinking game and I tried to leave at about midnight and got talked in to "one more game". It's never one more game and I felt like absolute dog sh! t the next day. Drink a dozen beers, a dozen shots and sleep for about an hour before heading off to work. 🤢
I went to work one day, and the next day was in Emergency at Hoag Hospital. I had contracted C-dificile, probably at the gym. Was hospitalized for 45 days. If you know what C-dificile is you know how sick I was
Intestinal infection, usually brought on by taking a lot of antibiotics, that kills the 'good' bacteria in the intestine. You develop diarrhea and they can't stop it. Brother (a nurse) said I probably got it at 24 Hour fitness, from handling equipment of someone infected. He said persons can be 'carriers' and don't know they have it. Terrible illness, and thought I was going to die. Brother flew here (CA) to try to help. Of course, when you get 'sick' at work, you have no idea exactly what is wrong, and you just go on as much as you can. Never will forget that 'sick day"
LOL! Nobody will ever know!! A "Secret" remedy, and in a half hour, even half-assing it, I am 200% beyond most of the others in my group! Nobody is going to know, because I am not that whiner, that takes a "sick day" because they might be hung over, after St. Patrick's Day, or whatever!
Not work, but school. I was in second grade and had such a high fever that I had extreme vertigo. It felt like the classroom was moving in waves and that I was going up and down. I ended up projectile vomiting due to the nausea.
Had a flu and didn't want to miss the 1st day of a new job. Took 2 weeks to recover because I wasn't getting rest. Normally it would've only taken 1 week.
Up 72 hours binge writing and noticed the sun rise and realized I'd worked all night and decided to go to bed and then realized it wasn't Saturday morning but Monday morning.
In the restaurant, really nothing because of food hygiene laws
In my own self-employment, I've been in a hospital bed hooked to a heart monitor and still checking eBay for deals and rebooking appointments with clients over email
I am not sure the statute of limitations are up yet, hence I cannot say. I can say I can function rather well in some very altered realities. Nobody ever caught on to the fact I was off. It may just be nobody pays attention to me.
I was still drunk from the night before and smelled like it to
I forced myself to go, because back then I was short on rent again. So what did I do, went drinking. My mind set in my 20s was not always the brighest.
I finished my last two years of high school while recoving from liver failure. I missed 40% of my classes but managed to pass everything and graduate with the rest of my class
Went to work on an hour of sleep and worked a 10 hour shift (I was a manager at the time). After work I literally fell asleep while driving but got extremely lucky that I snapped out of it, and was able to hit the breaks in time.
No sleep and sick to the point I couldn't stop sneezing or coughing. And it was painful to eat, drink and even breathe. I'm amazed they let me work that day.
Broke up with my ex and had to face work. I was devastated and everyone knew at work which made it worse. My co workers were toxic and talked about my business all the time

Hopefully that didn't start a chain reaction🤮

Lets just say Dr. Pepper stock went up that day.

I was sick as shit this morning, puked four times, foot swollen, but still came in... It's it 5 yet☹️
Sounds like you had a hell of an evening. Did you know the name of the dude who you woke up next to?

Very impressive👍💛
Prior to getting on the pill, I used to have a day of pain on my first day of period. Pretty much blacked out a couple times due to heat and pain.
Aww man

Oh yeah, so glad you were able to🙏

Bet that was a long day
Too long
I feel yah.. That's how I felt today.. But actually it really did go pretty fast cuz we were really busy or I was anyways lol
I mistook a food poisoning (Hepatitis) for a flu.
Only when I went next to unconscious, a colleague thought it wise to get me a doctor.
I plan to not repeat this.
Good thing they did
Indeed. A funny detail: the guy who 'saved my life' was one of these unwelcome immigrant workers :D
Broke up with my ex and had to face work. I was devastated and everyone knew at work which made it worse. My co workers were toxic and talked about my business all the time
Yeah toxic coworkers the worst
I am SO brave. One occasion I went to work even after sneezing.. not once but TWICE!!! :D
🤣🤣🤣
I went with a severe migraine a few times. Miserable.
Hear yah.. Don't that few times myself
*done
@Brainsbeforebeauty yeah-NOT fun. Not fun at all
No it sure isn't
Lets just say it was really bad, don't wanna talk about it and that bitch is in prison now
