I'm planning on going to a college online for mortuary sciences and the average cost is 23k before aid and like 9k after aid. While doing that I want to join an apprenticeship at one of my local funeral homes.
I tried finding a cheaper option to pursue my dream career but I can't. My community college offers nothing in funeral directing or mortuary sciences.

Yeah. You can do internships a and stuff even volunteering would benefit you more than spending 23k of money you don’t have to do something like that.. it may be a longer, harder route, but at least you will be debt free sooner

Absolutely!!! Apprentiships often negate the need for some college also! And experience means so much more than degrees. Both combined are always gold though

I was trying to look for just an apprenticeship, but all the ones I found said that the only way they would do that is if I was actively in college 🥺🥺😠

That seems smart to me. And once you add in potential scholarships the cost can drastically drop. There are some really powerful online scholarship tools and there are thousands of available scholarships

Sounds like a decent plan. Please make sure the online college is properly verified to teach mortuary science.

I think it just offers online courses as well as on campus.

I would discuss this with someone where you will be an apprenticeship for their thoughts on the online program, before spending any money.

Have you tried going to community College for your basic courses, then transferring to the 4 yr university?

At 24 she's not only a funeral director, but she runs a number of them? I don't see how that's possible unless this is some sort of family business

Yeah fair enough, ask the rest of GaG rather than someone in the sector, who attends various conventions, recruits people, knows legal side etc, Latest technology etc.
