Well... unless they are leaving a hefty chunk of money or assets for the kid, yes.

Not to mention regardless of how they dress it up, they are basically looking for the kid to be their live in carer.

I had my twin boys at 41 and it was one of the best things that ever happened to me. So no, I wouldn't say it's idiotic.
