Which kind of teaching you think is better? Strict or soft?

I mean how should one teach a student? By being strict or being friendly?

For me friendly teaching works well with a tint of strictness. My dad compliments me a lot when he teaches me maths and physics. When he takes my test and I do well then for remarks he write "you are going great girl! I fear you gonna beat Pythagoras!". Due to this I started loving maths. And when I do silly mistakes then he becomes strict and the fear comes over me and I study attentively. I study myself the other subjects. I encourage such teaching only. What's your opinion?

as the tutor I am, and that I have been for almost 20 years... I think it is best to NOT have just one style of teaching... and this is because many kids are different to one another and they have different ways of learning as well

it should be a must for the teachers to be able to adjust to the student... rather than to box all the students into the same category or style, whichever that category or styles are

Soft. My psychology teacher was very chill and very down to earth. He didn't act like he was better than anyone and would always have conversations with the students about anything, music sports, etc. He would also play music and would take suggestions if we wanted to hear a certain song. He mixed teaching with being funny and all those things made the class fun and made me want to actually pay attention.

I'd say a mix of both or something in between
Not all kids are the same and you might have to change it for them
