How do I know if I'm good enough to be a social worker?

You know wrong from right can you look into someone's eyes and know that you're telling me the truth or not I guarantee you will learn that very quickly do you have a good heart do you care you can put yourself in those kids positions can you get to make choices and the choice is for the child you have to put yourself in their shoes and you have to say enough is enough are you got to say this isn't really happening but you're taking on a big role and a lot of people can't do it I think you're going to be very good at it there's going to be days that you break down and cry because of the pain that you see and feel coming from these children or what the parents and then to their child take one day at a time go up your intuition go off the evidence the biggest asset that you can be for yourself is to learn how to read people listen to their every word watch their body language watch their eyes they will tell you everything plus more without them saying one word
I would say to do a job like that it's more about having a passion for it. While be resilient. That is not having your spirit broken easily by the shortcomings of the system.
I watched a documentary the other day on the foster care system. And they had this one lady who over the years has had many foster kids (some with low functioning autism that most people wouldn't want to be saddled with). And you could tell by her interview that she knew she was just plugging a badly leaking damn. But she just had a real positive attitude. She knew she couldn't save the world. But she could be a positive force in a handful of kids lives.
The first sign is having the desire to do it. If tou enjoy learning on the subject is another sign. You just have to want it and then work towards it.
You sound like a good person so you are not qualified.

You are more than good enough to be a social worker. Both my parents were social workers. It takes a certain type. You are EXACTLY that type. I really hope you decide to become a social worker. Good people like you going into social work is what social work needs. Please don't be doubting yourself on this. You are SUCH a pre-social worker. Do it! 🙂
Being a social worker is a good thing to go through. I knew a girl who went to 4 years of college to become a social worker but sadly she passed away at age 30.
It's a lot of work and BS and pays very little. Just saying
For sure
Can you care enough and a2te motivated to get the people the help they need like housing, food, etc
