How can I become more cultured and sophisticated?

I have always wanted to come off as more classy and sophisticated.
I thought about doing things like listening to classical music, reading classic literature, learning about art history, and learning a new language.

Well, if you want to be more invested in culture, the logical choice is to expose yourself to more culture- and the internet is GREAT for that. The Gutenberg project has pretty much ALL the great works of literature, and all in the public domain, so it's free; Librivox has audiobook versions of them (not all of them, and it's all volunteer work, so quality's kinda hit-and-miss, but again, it's public domain. The Internet Archive has recordings of some truly amazing music (don't stop at Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven, please; Wagner and Shostakovich alone make expanding your Classical horizons worthwhile).

You should do it for yourself, but those are all good things to know more about. May I also add learning more about physics and how to play an instrument.

i would say reading book and watching classic movie is a great start;

As classical movie you have Shakspeare, Moliere, Homere (l'iliade et l'odyssée), Les chevaliers de la table ronde, etc...

Learning about history and arts is also a great things, you can learn about mythology (greeks and Nordics), history of Western countries of Europe.

All this would be a good start, it's stuff we learnt in school, maybe you can try to find the French school teaching (we put a tons of importance on culture in France and in school) so by learning our school program you would become very educated and cultured.

I am southern black guy so I can't help you with that. When I see a white guy I have to say "Yes, sir. No, sir. Clean up after you, sir. Shine your shoes for you, sir" or else I lose my job. I wish I was white like you.
