If the reason is not listed (for example you left for depression, accident, cancer, became a parent or had other family issues that required 24h assistance, broken up with a relationship in the office, and whatnot), feel free to add it in the comment! As long as it was the most common reason you left your jobs / turned off job offers for.
My state decided I no longer worked in healthcare because I said my body my choice too loud. Amusingly enough, now the hospital can’t find a staff or keep the ones they lost and is limping along on government handouts. The nurses just unionized to resist that kind overreach in the future, and the beatings and other violent crimes against staff have gone through the roof once the state fired approximately half of the public safety department. Recently a former patient with relevant experience compared it to a stay in a hospital in a third world country regarding basic supplies, staff availability, availability of medicines, etc. It’s almost like that was a bad idea…

Job I turn down has the wrong work environment for the most part. Ie they have unrealistic demands, and/or an inefficient work environment. I want a work/life balance.

My last two jobs were janitor by day and dish washer by night! I only lasted 2 days on the dishwasher job because they made it impossible for me to do the fucking job and I felt I was gonna have a fucking nervous breakdown if I even went back there again!! The reason I quite the janitor job was mostly because my ex-sisters were having me evicted from my house and I only had a few days to get all my stuff out and was only able to get about half of it but they still wanted me to keep going to work and I told them to fuck off, I'm trying save as much of my life as I can!!
My first long term job was affected by the recession in 2007-2008. They laid off all but 5 people. I went back to school & got my gas & oil burner technician & water, wastewater operator in training certification.
Couldn’t get a job in water treatment & worked for three places in hvac in half a year. Each progressively worse then the last. I installed 160 geothermal furnaces in a condo when I finished and asked what job next the owner said he was laying me off.
It was December 16 week before Christmas & he said “oh you can still come to the Christmas party.”
After that being disgruntled with hvac I got hired at the paper mill. It only lasted 2 years and the entire place was shuttered and dismantled.
I knew the paper mill was going down so I was already sending resumes out. Week after announcing the closure I started current job. Been there almost 10 years now.
I quit my last job because they were moving the plant to Mexico and offered me a bonus to travel down there and train someone to program their CMM. Thanks but no thanks.
Could not come close to matching salary even though I preferred that Job...
The job I quit because they there temporarily gigs while I looked a job that’s more professional and looks good on a resume. Before I worked retail.
