How important is it for a couple to prepare for retirement?

Investments, savings, etc. Should one partner focus on more on retirement? Or is it not that important to begin with? I'm trying to answer a questionnaire lol, so I might as well see other people's opinions on it.

Yes even if you aren’t w someone you should always start saving as early as possible. The younger you start the less you have to put away each month. If you start at age 30 then you may have to put away more than what you would have to do starting in your teens or 20’s. I wouldn’t suggest saving it in a bank though. I mean for now it’s ok but each year your money is losing value due to inflation. Let’s say you get a 4% raise but inflation goes up 6%, you’re down 2%. So you need to find a way to invest that’ll beat the inflation rate. I love purchasing gold as well as silver. That isn’t all I invest in. You have to find a way to make your money work for you even when you’re sleeping. Banks are corrupt. They take your money, lend it out as a loan at an astronomical interest rate while paying you peanuts in interest on your savings.

It's crucial unless you want to work the rest of your life just to survive. You're young, I highly suggest you save as much as possible. Don't be dependent on a man. You worry about your own retirement and when you settle down with someone you need to preach it to them as well.

I think EVERYONE should prepare for retirement, single or married. But as finance professor told me many moons ago "Money and marital problems go together like 🤞". It's very important that couples be on the same page not only with where they're at. But where they're going 5,10, 20 etc. years from now.

Start studying investing early on. Determine what allocation you want to go to stocks, and what percent to go into savings.
