More marriages end from the stresses of financial problems than any other reason. What do people do when they get married? Buy a house, maybe a new car, furniture and other needs a new house brings. That on top of the $30K they spent on a wedding. I've seen it happen to people I knew. You think everything is going well for them and then you hear their cars got repossessed, their house is in foreclosure, and they are getting divorced. Turns out they didn't know each other after all, or at least knew how to be financially wise. Many people today are living paycheck to paycheck. So it is almost a #1 requirement to be financially stable and know how to keep to a budget.
depends on what you call stability. if by stability you mean they have say 60k in the bank and work a steady job. honestly no. if you mean they have steady work and they do not waste all of their money then most definitely.
Wife response: when my husband and I met he had money then as a result of just life he lost almost all of it. many would have left but he asked me to trust him and I did it was rough for both of us but in the end he got far more money than he had lost and we married shortly after. we went on several trips bought a couple houses and have since retired and started our family. we are both 39.

Yes, definitely. But it's important to separate financial stability - the ability to provide a basic lifestyle for yourself - to pay for housing, utilities, food, car, clothes, and other necessities - from a more lavish lifestyle. "Financial stability" doesn't mean 2 restaurant meals and 2 Starbucks liquid desserts per day, or to be able to buy designer clothes, or travel, or any of that stuff. That's all LUXURY, and that's beyond financial stability. Nothing wrong if you can afford it, but it isn't NECESSARY and no one is ENTITLED to luxury.
I think most people understand this, but there is a surprising large minority who either doesn't get it because they aren't remotely financially stable, or on the other end those who think "financial stability" means a luxury lifestyle. Both are wrong.

Yes I will not even be in a relationship with someone at this point if they show signs of someone that isn’t financially unstable and irresponsible. People don’t understand how much nonsense is added into a relationship when someone can’t simply save some money.

All throughout history, couple would marry and then grow together. It is madness to think we should all be finished, polish products before we ever married. We'd all be 40 and having kids at 50 if we waited for everything to be perfect in our lives.
Well unless your getting a 2cent marriage then ya need to have money. But at the same time I am not one who's ever put much weight on just a big party with a ring. Like if you need that for it to prove that I love you then we need to break up lol.
It helps a lot as it lets you be freer with your partner and establish an equal relationship between the genders as both are sufficient and both can focus more specifically towards each other’s feelings and needs resulting in a better and healthier understanding and deeper relationship!!
I voted for the first one. I'm more than capable of supporting us both, but I've no interest in being with anyone who doesn't understand the value of a dollar and has shite spending habits. If you can't spend less than you make you're not going to have access to any small part of what I make as well.
A man NOT getting legally married is what provides him with financial stability.
For men, being married is the greatest risk of financial instability.
And for the majority of women, by the time she is well off enough to think she is financially stable, she is too old and undesirable to good quality men.
You better believe it. Nothing is worse than either or both of you bouncing around trying to find stable jobs. Or, having to work and go to college at the same time. And if you’re married with children, that is a tv show by the way, all those other distractions are magnified even more.
All of that are distractions when in a relationship, especially at the beginning when the two of you are working out your issues.
Financial stability is important, but healthy financial habits are more sustaining. There rarely is there a "right time" in life other than what we prioritize.

I used to think yes.
But now that I make some money, it is somewhat overstated. Yes, money solves everything and turns everything on easy mode but realistically unless one works 2 jobs simultaneously or has multiple sources of income financial stability is not really a thing.
Money has very little value now. We're talking about having to skip buying lunch to make ends meet. Even in the average IT sector.
Honestly if you not financial stable why you in a relationship Periodt... not saying you need to be a billionaire. But if you struggling with bills already, no car, no apartment not set financially why in the hell would you want to bring that instability into a marriage where there will be even more responsibilities. And you can't even do the bare minimum of taking care of yourself financially
You Gen Z kids make me laugh. Back in the day nobody was "financially stable" until they retired, assuming they even lived that long. If you want to get married you make it happen whether you have money or not. You want jam on it. You're waiting for permission to live.

Most of us will never be as financially stable as we think we need to so we should get married regardless of it, as long as we have a place to stay and some food on the table, it's enough
Depends. As the relationship needs to be about more than money, to work.

If I waited until i was financially stable i would still be single.
Or at least not being bad with what one has. I know people who make twice what I do who are always broke because of poor financial stewardship.
