What's wrong with the school system?

It is  National Parents as Teachers day ! Overall, what's the worst thing about the school system in your country? Is it what is being taught, how it is beings taught, the behavior of students? Maybe it's how things were when you were younger compared to now?

Well, I'm a former high school teacher, and I'd say the biggest concerns I had were a lack of parental involvement in the kids' education and the principals' refusal to shape my curriculum to fit the needs of my particular students (one of the principals I worked for was like that, the other one was not). Curriculums often aren't compatible with male students or ones that have difficulty focusing.

Western education system was designed to create workers not critical or inventive thinking in the majority of schools, just the elite private schools or the people who could afford private tutors.

From what I've seen of the American system it fails anyone who has an IQ over 50. The whole idea of "no child left behind" actually results in ALL children being held back.

Government-run schools in most places have gone from primarily teaching with, regrettably, some indoctrination to primarily indoctrination centers with, regrettably, little real teaching.

Everyone learns differently. You can't explain expect all kids to do well learning one way. A lot of subjects are so useless. They should be preparing you for life, and teaching you subjects you will never ever use.

Generally, school is obsolete and the government just wanna tax the hell out of those schools. It feels like school is just about the money these days.
