According to the National Center for Education Statistics, nearly 20% of all public schools have adopted uniform mandates.
Instead of taking away individuality. The bullying should seriously be talked about, and groups warned and consequently separated, for hazing or whatever
or…
purposefully construct classes, where there’s one of each☝️ “Stereotypical” demographic- one athlete, one cheerleader, one band kid, one math-wiz kid; etc.
That way no one “needs” another person “like them” to survive, and that way everyone tries to be the best they can be, while embracing the differences of others.
I. e. no competition for being the only band kid/ and no school of fish or herd of dogs to encourage bad/ deconstructive behavior. This kind of individuality will go further in promoting a generation of kids, who don’t just follow crowds. They’re not just good at what they do…
but they’re unapologetic for it. 😎👌

I think so… As long as the uniforms look cute and there’s freedom to accessories. Uniforms are actually kind of nice as you don’t have to buy clothes all the time and it’s saves so much money.

I remember my days in private school when I had to wear a uniform. It's not that bad as people claim it to be.
There are generally 2 categories of people who are anti-unifrom:
A) Guys who wanna flex their dad's money wearing expensive drip
B) Girls that want attention showing off their body
The vast majority of people do not have a problem with it, and I don't understand what the big deal is. You're going to school to learn, not for a stupid fashion show.

+1 yIf it's a private school then sure, if it's public school maybe not unless the school is going to provide them for the students and not make the families go out their way in purchasing them. Attire has never effected my learning growing up, it didn't make it better or worse, I still learned at the pace that was suited for me. As long as students are following dress code and it's not overly sexual or offensive imagery, then I see no need for it. If students won't comply with the dress code, then yes bring on the uniforms since they don't want to listen.
00 ReplyIt has it advantages and disadvantages. I personally would have hated it, but I can also see that it may not be as bad for anyone. Also I would advocate for a choice of a few different 'uni'forms and the permission to individualise it to some extend. Bassically the ability for everyone to be the same without forcing people to actually be the same.

+1 yHere in our country, Philippines, uniforms are mandatory. My experience wearing uniforms was good. After the pandemic uniforms are no longer required here and I still preferred uniforms for practicality reasons.
10 ReplyI used to wear uniforms. But the material they are made of just sucks, because schools are on a budget. I would get behind the idea if they actually chose a good quality fabric and actually had decent designs, not some ugly patterns and colour schemes that boomers think makes children and teens look innocent and good compared to semi-casual wear. Oh please. In my experience, the people who designed my uniforms have no fashion sense at ALL.

+1 yIt already is in my home country lol it's not bad. Quite nice actually to not have to pick what outfit to wear, not discriminating by class or dress-up, and being able to recognize people of different schools by their uniforms.

10 ReplyDamn you guys hadbit good. Schools in india all have mandatory uniforms, irrespective of whether they looked good or not, no accessories allowed except an analog watch.
Heck there was time when our winter jackets hadn't been issued yet but they still didn't allow us to wear our jackets in the cold.00 Reply- 431 opinions shared on Education & Career topic.
+1 yThat surprises me. I bet they’re all in red states. But no I don’t think that’s a good idea. I think some kind of dress code is ok (like maybe no crop tops) but not a uniform.
10 Reply I'm opposed to it. The idea of kids dressed the same chips away at their individuality. On the flip side, I see zero positives. So for me the question is "why" and not "why not".
10 Reply604 opinions shared on Education & Career topic. I feel like it's conformity to make all kids dress alike, as a teenager we all had phases and styles we had to create and go through it's so awkward to see adults still going through phases they should have went through as teenagers.
10 ReplyI didn’t follow dress code in high school I know I wouldn’t do well wearing uniforms
10 ReplyI wish my kids' schools would... it is so much less expensive.
10 ReplyI used to wear uniforms in middle school and highschool and hated it. I preferred wearing regular clothes to express myself better.

00 Reply I never got the Idea of wearing uniforms, They make things seem intense.
