So the next step is to drop the uniforms but make sure that the rules as to what is acceptable, or not, strict and tight to keep the students minds more on their study's then on there school dress attire.

I voted C. Moderate dress code.
The reason is simple, in my mind.
Schools today look like prisons. Students wear uniforms with id badges. Prisoners wear uniforms with id badges. Students walk on certain sides of the halls, sometimes in single file. Prisoners walk on certain sides of the halls, sometimes in single file. Schools have police officers (somtimes armed), prisons have police officers (sometimes armed). Student's can't leave whenever they want. Prisoners can't leave whenever they want.
So where's the difference?
When you have a full uniform dress code, students will find something to express individuality. Shoe's, back pack, folders, even certain pens. If you want to be in the 'in crowd' you need these certain items. Even a strict dress code doesn't work. The kids start saying you need a certain brand of shirt, or pants to fit in.
The moderate code makes the most sense. Most businesses have a moderate dress code. Less chances of kids going nuts or doing extreme rebellion after graduation, or while out of school. They grew up being told what to wear, what to do, and then get hit with ultimate freedom. Many have trouble coping with that in college, or out on their own.
The reason for school uniforms in the U. S. was to combat gangs in school. It didn't work, and still doesn't work.
There was no dress code during my high school neither it's there at my uni. There was a dress code when I was in primary school. It was a formal uniform like in one of your photos in the description of the question. I don't think bare minimum was allowed unless it's a school event like dance competitions and other fun activities. At my uni, I am allowed to walk on campus in a underwear and no one will report me but I would get stares from the whole student body for sure. I really don't care about the dress code on campus but I would want girls to be cautious because one of my friends wore some skimpy dress and she was sexuslly assaulted in a local train while heading towards to the university.
B. No uniforms but a strict dress code should be enforced.
For example no tight clothes from head to toes, no high heels, no showing cleavage, shorts / dress and skirt must be at knee length or longer, legging must be worn with long top, no crop top, no tank top.
Wow, you are the most strict disciplinarian Ms Alice!
You think this will make for more focused studies?
Really? XD
I think so, it would avoid girls looking too much at their body and others girls / guys commenting on others people body, etc...
In my school when a girl or a guy wore revealing clothes people would stare at them, make comment, etc.. It disturb the class, bother the student / teacher. Too there's no point to really dress up just to go to school, people are here to learn.
You are so smart Ms Alice... that is why you are the Guru! :)
Moderate. Some clothing isn't appropriate for a school setting and it prepares them for the workplace and society.
Also, what school checks students underwear 😂😂😂
I guess they would have to go by tattle tales or rumors.
Wouldn't that be fun to be called into the principles office for that one? ... lol
@laurieluvsit Yeah... "Ms laurie. Please come in. Shut the door. And turn around and show me your underwear. School policy, you understand. "

Should be required with certain standards but decided. Kids especially young girls are always going to push the limits of what they can wear so the more they get away with the further they will push for the attention. For instance at a school i was at for a time there was a big fuss about a gender neutral girl insisting on wearing trousers instead of a skirt and a big uproar about it and a lot of drama and girls wearing trousers in support. Anyway the school relented but next year the girl was back wearing skirts, once she realised the trousers did nothing for her she dropped wearing them and enjoyed the attention the boys give her. At a school my cousin is at there is a girl who identifies as a fox, her parents drop her off every day and let her out of the back of their land-rover. She wears a uniform but some sort of fox ears on her head and a tail which is basically a buttplug. They also had to put in a litter tray for her and warn students not to pull her tail.
I would have hated a dress code. I was very muscular and athletic and always wore a skin-tight tank top and short shorts that showed off my muscular build. did not cost much and I did not feel any pressure to wear expensive clothes. I just liked showing off my muscular build and being eye candy for my classmates many of who thanked me for wearing a tank top and short shorts. I loved my classes and talked with most of my class mates and loved weightlifting at school. if it was warm outside i would go shirtles once outside of school and chat with class mates while shirtless in the parking lot.
Over here in the UK uniforms up until 6th form are usually required in all schools. Colleges and 6th forms are either whatever or have a dress code and university is own clothes.
My 6th form had a dress code and it was hard to follow, certain tops, no denim, no shorts, skirts a certain length etc so it would've just bee easier with a uniform.
I never used to agree with uniforms when I had to wear them, but looking back I think that was for the best, and because I wasn't at a super strict school I could still customise my look a bit with my bag, hair and jewellery :)
yes uniforms help people that can't afford them because even though they could use what they have and not have to buy expensive uniforms the expensive uniform is a one time purchase unless they gain weight grow rapidly then you would buy two every year but buying new outfits or trying to make them look different so people don't make fun of you for wearing the same thing is a lot more work also students have enough time out of school to express themselves school is for learning and I am sure parents would find it less stressful having to worry what there kids are wearing to school and students themselves for being judged by others because of their style
I personally think there is nothing wrong with personality. People need to be who they are. Now, your first statement people need to stop being soft saying that it’s bad for these kids. This world isn’t a place where they will cuddle and protect these kids when they get into the working world. Treat them and get them prepared for that. On the other hand, having uniforms isn’t the way to go because it’s going to (like you said) cause conformity issues, and no one will step out of the box to lead! So I’m anti-uniform
The idea that you NEED clothes to express yourself is founded in promoting the trait of vanity. Some say vanity is a vice others a virtue and for me the use of the argument to "avoid conformity" goes directly against societal values. You NEED to learn to conform to rules and laws and expectations and be accepting of that throughout your life. Expressing yourself purely on appearance screams out to those in media who want to objectify everyone and use that to judge and sell rather than try to figure out what the message is they're trying to push. It all becomes about image.
I grew up with uniforms in school and the way folk got around being individuals was we had personality and character instead of Reeboks and Adidas.
The schools I attended required uniforms. The idea behind uniforms in schools is so that every child rich or poor is the same and dressed to a reasonable standard of respectability. The only thing about the schools I attended was that you had to buy the uniform directly from the school so they were expensive enough when it should have been a matter of just buying them cheap in wallmart.
We had no dress code or uniform. But there have been no ''scandals''. People simply KNEW the boundaries. I guess that strong rules are only needed when there are weak participants? Uniform: I see some versions where especially overweight girls will suffer a lot from comments. But to minimise ''spending power competition'' - I see a strong point here. However: A skirt to a girl, and e necktie to a boy is the beginning of (social, and cultural) brainwash, and not necessary. ONE simple, neutral and comfortable ''uniform'' for ALL feels like the best compromise to me. For individual expression, there could be variable components allowed.
I can understand why they might want uniforms so that students are all equal but even that doesn't work entirely. I think students being able to express their individuality and being comfortable is important. I don't think there should really be a dress code. I like this school's approach. po.st/fyLSVB
I have seen schools with uniforms where a student can free dress but they have to pay money, so the uniforms are being used as a money making scheme. INnthe end, it should be up to the parents to make the rules, not the school.
I went to an academy type high school and we did not have a certain uniform except for gym class for regular gym girls wore Nike pro shorts and a t shirt with the school logo and guys work Nike spandex shorts with the same shirts underwear and bras had to be workout related for swimming girls were givin a one peice and swim cap and goggles guys were given a swim jammer and cap and google and for cycling we wore unisex cycling shorts we were onley aloud to wash clothes every 5 days
I had dress code till high school..
And would have had dress code in college if I had chosen a private institute..
But I went to government university and there is dress code that says
Formals and shoes..
No specific to colors..
But hardly anyone follows it.
And there is no issue until you dress decently
I think the kids should be allowed to wear what they want..
But it must not show your boobs..
And etc
Yes, minimum public standards should be adhered to.
I agree with you Ms Drener! :)
Gods created the boobs for showing... 😉
@SamanthaGG You are so funny Ms Samantha... I like you! ... lol
Schools can enforce uniforms all they want, as long as we don’t have to wear tartan skirts... god I hated the tartan skirts at my school. So did every girl lol
Ya, but there are many different styles and colors of them, you don't like any?
@Anon_af @laurieluvsit they were the ugliest colour and wayyyy too long
Plus I’m English, not Scottish!! Lol
@Anon_af I don’t mind pleated tartan skirts as much, as long as they’re above knee length. The ones we had to wear went over our knees though.
OH MY! No wonder you didn't like them!
I like the last one or the one above with reddish skirt.
Good choices Ms Eimi :)
Uniforms should be required for elementary school students for the sole reason of identifying them as an elementary school student in a particular school, and nothing else.
No dress code. You wanna be a little slut? Go for it! You wanna look like you go to church every Sunday Monday, Wednesday and twice on Saturday? Go right on fuckin ahead!! No school should restrict that shit.
OH MY, Ms Aird, you sound a bit shy, now tell us what you really think! ... lol
I agree with some of the arguments for all sides, so I honestly wouldn't mind either. I do think if I jad to choose I'd go for no uniforms though and a rather loose dresscode.
Uniforms aren't that bad, though they're kinda expensive for parents. Kids find ways to express themselves individually anyway, even with limited options.
I'd say the #1 thing in favour of uniforms is that it clearly marks the kids as underage... so shop attendants selling alcohol / tobacco or paedophiles don't have plausible deniability.
how can they enforce the underwear? I don’t know if uniforms help promote a learning environment, but the idea that no one is better that you nor and can’t show off your fancy clothes might be good..
but the odd thing that school uniforms have been sexualized, with the plaid skirt. I often have this fantasy of banging a shy modest schoolgirl in her uniform.
Uniform as they can express their form of individuality through act or outside of school but just like work school is a place to learn so uniforms to avoid conflict
These days Yes cuz kids get bullied for hot having name brand clothes , so this would keep their mouths shut
We have dress codes in South Africa, there are "special" days where we can dress casual and sometimes the poor are mocked. So I would say strictly dress codes
There should be a rule to coming at school without any dress
And that's it? ... lol
yeah. that's it. what do you expect me to say further?
Yes. My wife still has her from her all girl Catholic school, which makes for an interesting night sometimes lol.
Minimum dress code. Because kids should feel comfortable while learning. If others do not dress well enough, then it is a distraction to the others.
Moderate. It's ironic cause those uniforms can be more showing than some of the clothes students wear in public schools.
I'm for casual dress codes. Just don't show up to school almost naked.
Nope that would be stupid
I do like when my girlfriend dress me up like a naughty school girl hehe
Casual dress code so they at least aren't coming in naked.
I believe in the status quo. It's worked fine so far.
No that would be boring to wear the same clothes everyday wear what you want that's decent
Most school uniforms are sexist and even though it could prevent bullying n the basis of clothes ids will just make fun of something else Also not worth it economically in my opinion!!!
The @Drener blocked me.
.
I love you too My sweetie @laurieluvsit 💋💋
@SamanthaGG You are too naughty for him, but never too naughty and sweet for me! :)
You're my sweet Mate 😍😘😚👭. 🤝
.
When two blonde girls are facing each other, everyone thinks that only one blonde is there and other blonde is her picture in the mirror. 😉🤙💋👭💋🤘
... lol
A. Uniforms should be required that way there are no competitions to see who can outdress the other
I went to a public system, and in highschool there was no code, to a laxed dress code.
No thanks
I would hate wearing a girly outfit
In poll option D you would not have to do that Ms TC.
how else will they build their social hierarchy? lol
No they shouldn't
So what if a girl is showing too much boob or her skirt is too short?
Honestly, I don't agree with dress codes.
No dress code, dress codes are anti-freedom
Uniforms are a good idea.
No dress code
xx
~ Mrs Manson
So what if too much boob is showing or their skirt is too short?
I think C is good. :)
Girls in uniforms like that make me feel pedo-y.
I voted A
Minimal dress codes
Uniform
