Are issues with an ex HR related or supervisor related in my case?

Broke up with my boyfriend (who our male boss hates for some unknown reason). I asked our boss if i could move my locker location to prevent any tension in the future (it was beside my now ex’s). This was my boss’s response. I don’t think I would tell my boss any issues we have anyways as I try to remain cool and collective at work, but aren’t any issues between a coworker (especially an ex) something that HR has to deal with instead?

i dunno it seems like your boss is just being nice about it
i mean you asked about the locker and thats an issue for him to deal with
like my teacher told me to say any issues i have with other students in the class even though thats an issue for the head of year
i think its just so your boss can manage stuff more effectively and gossip is fun
