If you know you deserve to be promoted and want to level up would you schedule a meeting with the CEO of your company to discuss career opportunities?

Do you think the CEO would actually value the fact that you took initiative to go and discuss this matter with him? I know some people would actually advise to speak with their Managers instead but some Managers often don't have the authority to promote you.

You do what you will, however, if you do this at Halliburton or Pfizer without previous Relationship, it will bring negative attention. He is forced to share correspondence with those who are directly in charge of you. This is your call, however, I would be three months in other company interviews before making that move.

In my view, the only way to be promoted is to change companies within like fields. Or sometimes, with the right letters of accommodation, go from International Oil to International PHARMA.

I do know exceptional workhorse which means checks in on their responsibilities remotely on vacation as if a Director... get promoted from a grade two to five and to 7 within 6 years. This is an exception, I think.

Within 3 years at one place some appropriate Skill improvement certificate should have been completed. Your new Employer and the "promotion" offered position will be looking for growth and legitimate reason for leaving current workplace.

I think its a bad idea to be opening your mouth about being promoted.

You can apply for a position if your company accepts such regulations.

Your work should do the speaking for you and in due time you will be promoted.

You should pass it through your manager only.
If you bypass your manager, it can be taken negatively as someone who bypasses the hierarchy

And what level are you now? I think you should start with your manager or maybe his manager. The CEO doesn't have time to discuss career plans with all 15,000 employees.
