Could you move far away from your family for a career opportunity?

I have and I did. Family is (or can be) wonderful. But there comes a point in your life where your life is yours. And can't be constrained or held back or nudged in a certain direction by your parents, siblings, grand parents, cousins, etc. At least that's how I feel. I realize it's not that way for everyone and I respect that. But I couldn't do that. I couldn't not move for career. BUT... that's for parents, siblings, etc. I have passed up several career opportunities to stay where I am. My kids are in schools and have friends and girlfriends and youth groups and stability. And I will not rob them of that.

I don’t want to live alone but I do not mind relocating away from family if I have a husband or a female roommate that I can trust.

I couldn't, my little sister is still a baby (9 years) and I can't leave her yet, I'm waiting for her to get older lol
