Do chick fil a contact former employer about you (I agree them to contact my employer but I didn't put any of their phone number)?

It also depends on laws, in my area a prospective employer can contact a former employer but only to verify that you actually worked there when you worked there.

It is illegal to ask what kind of employee you were. Not that it is easily enforced, as if former employer said you were terrible or great, prospective isn't going to tell you.

How likely it is, I'd say depends on how understaffed they are and how many applicants. If they have a bunch of open positions and no one applying, they are less likely to.
