As a manager type, I would avoid you too. I have no direct relationship with you and to entertain you would only look bad and possibly lead to other work related issue. Most jobs location have cameras everywhere etc.

The best thing you can do is smile and never speak again. If you are spoken too then reply good morning or hey. Otherwise, leave the guy alone. This is exactly what he is thinking.

Don't say or do anything, and stop saying hi to him unless he says hi to you first.
