Then after that I went into the office and asked for the key to the one closet so I could get wet naps and he before he handed me the keys he joked with me about driving his car. I was wondering why he was joking with me when yesterday he was being a jerk? No rude comments please.

There's lots of reasons a person may react negatively one day and change the next. The most obvious is that he was having a bad day and it had nothing to do with you, another one is that they heard something bad about you that he later found out was incorrect.
