How would you sell a product that you know deep down not even you would want?

Sooo this is becoming a painful week. Got hired to be a saleslady for multiple walmarts and it's now been two days of this shi and I wanna quit. Immediately. It's not that I have to get up early in the morning and do shi, it's the point I have to try and sell someone some garbage as my internet company down here. I think I'm only staying for the experience until I can't learn anymore and expect me to be a "monster saleslady". (i can't care about that, not for this company)

So any advice I could use for this? It's not a downer as I still have another job but just ffffffuuuu

How do I see a product...

Well, I need to make the customers believe that they need this product. Because they only buy it if they have a need for it. Even their wish to buy this product is not enough if they do not need it.

So, just like the artificial inflation of stocks, you need to make them believe that they need this product.

Also, a good salesman would try to understand the need of the customer. If I need to sell a laptop, then first I would ask them what they require it for, among other things.

Get to know the customer, and you know what they need and the problems they are facing. And you can try to sell it accordingly.

You need to believe in the product even if it is a dumbo. That is how you sell it.

I'm making an assumption the product and your employer isn't immoral or illegal.

In that case, I think you approach it not from whether you would want it but that someone might. Strain your mind to determine anything that might be good about the product and hype that. Also, as you talk to victims... I mean clients... try to figure out what they need and how your product might (however badly) fit that need.

In other words, make this about them, not you.
