How am I the asshole in this?

I believe I posted a month or so ago about my boss changing the days we have for spring break and that I had prior plans. We'll to be nice I changed them and have been coming in this week because another worker is out and our cook now just won't come in. But I told the director Friday I will be taking the day off to go visit my boyfriend. Which apparently isn't a good enough reason even though I was supposed to have the whole week off but came in to help. So now she's pissed at me and saying now her and the other workers will have to struggle that day without me just because I wanna go visit someone that apparently I can do on another day. But again this week was supposed to be my vacation time that I was given. But due to the daycare needing help I've come in but want just one day this week off

It's not your problem that your employer is understaffed and incompetent. You should have taken the week off, if it was pre approved then that was your right.

It was. They made a schedule back in September showing this week off and I made plans. But then I think last month they changed the days. But I still had my plans they knew about. But I was trying to be nice and come in to help. But now I'm pissed because I'm getting crap for wanting one of the days off just to see my boyfriend since he's visiting

I've tried. Problem is I can't drive, and I have a preexisting medical condition that makes it hard to work. So this job being only a 5 minute wall from my house makes it convenient. I'm working though on trying to find a place that will take me even with the medical condition
