My dad treats me like a nobody because I’m not an engineer, dentist or a doctor what should I do?

My boyfriends family are a lot more successful than my family as they are Engineers and University teachers none of them look down on me and never boast about salaries/ status.

My side of the family aren’t even dentist, teachers and engineers so why do they look down at me and expect me to be better?

We all have our talents and which areas we excel in and which areas we don't. It is wrong for them to take that attitude towards you. Especially since they themselves aren't even in those fields. They most likely have no idea what it takes to do those things. Perhaps it is a cultural thing? Do you belong to a culture where this type of thinking is prevalent?

Wish I knew he wasn’t exactly an angle at my age he had 2 failed marriages and even to this day he can’t keep a women dunno why I get so much crap

No I live with my boyfriend in our own flat and I live about 4 hours away from the town where he lives

Well in that case as hard as it may be, I would suggest you trying to take as little, or notice at all, in what your Father has to say or do.

Gently remind him that although he is your Father, you are now happily living your own life.

A father must love his daughter no matter what she is as long as she's a good girl!
Not everyone were born to become engineers or doctors!
If i had a daughter i'd still love her the same if she was a doctor or if she was still living with me with no profession at all!
